Clayton S. Taylor, Sr., 92, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna I. Taylor; brother, Guy Taylor; sisters Ruth Stewart and Eleanor Schwartz. Survivors include his daughter Susan M. Taylor, son Clayton Stan Taylor, Jr., sister Marie Heasley; and nieces and nephews. Clayton S. Taylor was born in Renick, West Virginia, on August 6, 1919. Clayton Taylor served honorably in the Navy during World War II. He married Anna Tabit in 1943. He started his career as a teacher then went into corporate jobs that took him and his family to Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Kentucky then settling in Tampa in 1966. Mr. Taylor was a respected businessman in South Tampa and a successful entrepreneur. He was active in his community and church. Clayton was an outgoing, honest, generous, good man and father. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed entertaining everyone. He will be missed. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2012, at Christ the King Church, 821 S. Dale Mabry Hwy. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Blount and Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Avenue. Donations can be made to Lighthouse for the Blind, Metropolitan Ministries, or Christ the King Catholic Church.
